A Loving Change

I read a quote recently that opened my eyes- it read: “To think you can love God without being changed by Him, is to think you can jump into the ocean and not get wet. To really love Him, you must understand that your life is going to be wrecked my Him, and built again into something beautiful, something lasting”. I think we all know that God has plans for us, and it lead us in a certain direction, and we always try our best to love Him and trust in him, that the bad is just a side effect. It never really entered my mind that my worst days, are His work too, and that is good. We want to change, as human beings we want to evolve into people we are proud of, people who have God living within them, and that means we have to let Him change us. He may have to break us down to the point of doubt, or anger, or fear, but He will build us back up to certainty and light because that may be what He needs to do, to change us for the better.

Hard times can be some of the best things that have ever happened to us. They can make us realize how strong we truly are, they can reveal our fears and give us an opportunity to conquer them, they can make us realize if we are enjoying where we are and who we are with. That last one is important, if we are ever able to be thankful for the hard times God gives us, it is for that reason. The hard times in life are almost a pause button, they make you think about the times you were happier, which lead you to think about the people who make you happy, and reasons and things that make you enjoy life, they make you take a step back and look at your life and think- how did I get here?- what can I change?- Hard times put into perspective what really matters, and for that, we change. What we want changes, who we want to be around changes, where we want to go from here forward changes, and what all led to this change? God. To love God, is to be changed by God. When days are bad, mistakes are made, God is there with you, changing you for the better.

So, jump into that ocean.

Quote of the Day

Let us be a reflection of the God we claim to love.
